Seize the day or hit snooze?
Always snooze. I’m terrible in the morning. My brain doesn’t wake up until at least 10am, but it fizzes until well into the night.
What motivates you in the morning?
Getting my first hit of caffeine.
What would your dream weekend involve?
A long walk or bike ride in beautiful countryside, lunch in a gastropub garden, and a good night’s sleep.
What outfit are you most looking forward to wearing now we’re allowed out, and where will you wear it?
I bought a gorgeous Diane von Furstenberg dress, with an Escher-like geometric print, on a discount site to wear to my book launch.
What do you think is your finest quality?
Resilience. Whenever I get a knock or have a setback, I feel miserable for a while, then I take a deep breath and say to myself, “Right – onwards and upwards!” I’ve been bracing myself for bad reviews of my new book, but plan to take the novelist Kingsley Amis’s advice: “A bad review can ruin your breakfast but you shouldn’t let it spoil your lunch.”
