Seize the day or hit snooze?

It depends, but during COVID times, I’m definitely hitting that snooze option more often. I’ve slowed down massively, starting the days slowly, and it feels like the right thing to do right now.

What would your dream weekend involve?

A long walk on Hampstead Heath with my sister and our partners, followed by a massive roast in a cosy pub with Yorkshire puddings as big as my head.

What outfit are you most looking forward to wearing after lockdown, and where will you wear it?

My wedding dress! I am hopefully still getting married in the summer. It’s from Needle & Thread and I love it.

What do you think is your finest quality?

My curiosity.

What was the greatest day of your life?

The day I handed in my notice at my old job and decided to set up a business on my own.

What woman do you most admire?

Julia Cameron.

What one item could you not live without?

My AirPods. I am constantly walking and listening to podcasts these days.

Coffee, tea or cabernet?

I love all three, but I’d have to say tea. As Caitlin Moran says: “Nine times out of ten, you probably aren’t having a full-on nervous breakdown – you just need a cup of tea and a biscuit.

What was the last thing that made you laugh?

Probably a stupid meme on Instagram.

And the last thing that made you cry?

My Octopus Teacher on Netflix. A truly unique and beautiful documentary.

What’s the most useful thing your mother taught you?

She is the queen of gadgets and life hacks. Recently: buy yourself some little wooden tongs to get your bagel out of the toaster so you don’t burn yourself.

What is your greatest achievement?

Personally, my friendships spanning 20+ years. Professionally, my books.

The Multi-Hyphen Method, Sabotage and OLIVE, all by Emma Gannon

What embarrassing memory would you most like to forget?

Oh god there’s so many. I spotted Keith Duffy (from Boyzone) in a restaurant when I was teenager and ran after him, asking him to sign a napkin for me.

What is the greatest life lesson you’d like to pass on?

You don’t need to feel so self-conscious. No one is thinking about you that much, they’re thinking about themselves!

What song will always make you move?

Controversy by Prince.

And what book will always move you?

Tiny Beautiful Things by Cheryl Strayed

What is your most burning ambition?

Right now, to finish my second novel!

What one thing do you avoid at all costs?

Nightclubs.

What is love?

Feeling understood.

How would you most like to be remembered?

As someone who wasn’t afraid to try new things.
